Couples Therapy

It might look like frequent arguments, avoiding difficult conversations, feeling unheard, or repeated patterns where the same issues keep arising. This might be due to infidelity, emotional distance, or the stresses of daily life.
Couples therapy provides a safe space to explore these patterns, improve communication, and develop practical skills to manage disagreements more effectively while strengthening connection and understanding.
What to Expect
Samantha has completed Level 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and uses it in her work. The Gottman Method is an evidence-based approach grounded in decades of research on what helps relationships thrive. The focus is on improving communication, managing conflict more effectively, deepening friendship and intimacy, and creating shared meaning in your relationship.
Assessment
Before beginning therapy, each partner individually completes a questionnaire as part of the assessment process. This helps provide insight into your relationship dynamics, patterns, and areas of strength and growth, and ensures therapy is tailored to your unique needs.
The first session is attended by both of you as a couple. Then followed by a session for each partner individually. You then attend the fourth session together as a couple which is your feedback session. This forms the assessment stage and gives Samantha the opportunity to identify strengths and challenges within the relationship, forming the basis of the personalised treatment plan. The assessment provides a detailed understanding of your communication patterns, emotional connection, relationship strengths, stressors, and goals for therapy.
Therapy
After the assessment, you will begin therapy together as a couple. With guidance, you will explore the issues identified, work toward your shared relationship goals, while developing the crucial skills necessary to manage conflict and strengthen your connection.
